I disagree, I think one of the best ways to make a good first impression is to acknowledge that you're not perfect and are open to guidance. That sets the stage for honest two-way communication and shows your supervisor that you're committed to growth and improvement.

Can agree with a lot of these, but really not the first one. First three months should focus on positive side, and one has a long way ahead to build the constructive criticism communication cycle, no need to rush during the first three months. A relaxed mind at this point would boost a better performance I believe.
