    Hello,

In the Indian metros , a fresher Management Accountant's salary can vary typically from INR 20,000-38,000 per month.

There is a lot of scope for growth through work experience. Many MNC manufacturing companies intake freshers with a global CMA degree such as the one offered by the IMA.

Further career choices range from business accountant, corporate finance accountant , cost accountant financial analyst, business analyst to going on to becoming Finance Manager, CFO, Finance Controller, Cost Controller etc. As you progress in your career over the years your salary could go up to INR 600,000-1200,000 per annum. It all depends on the progress/promotions you make at your workplace and how long you work at a particular company.

According to my knowledge, in order to practice as a Certified Management Accountant in India one should be a Cost and Works Accountant from the ICWAI (India). So, a qualification of CMA from IMA alone will not make you eligible to practice in India. In India, the CMA qualification from IMA will enhance your profile as you will be viewed as more competent as a Management Accountant, especially for work in MNCs.

Hope this has been of help.

    hello sir,
thanks for sharing your valuable insight,

i have a got a doubt regarding indian qualification of icwai, i have read somewhere that ima and icwai have got a memorandum of understanding and if one passes the global cma exam offered by ima he automatically gets certified to practise in indian as well-  is that right?

and apart from cma i have got an additional qualification cfe ( certified fraud examiner) will this qualification help me somewhere in my career, if yes what kind of jobs and extra premium in salary i can expect. i have got one year of full time and one year of part time work experience in areas like budgeting etc....

one more question that i have got is what are the job opportunities available in united states for a fresher with my qualifications. and weather a cma can have public practise or not ( like ca's have)

thanks very much for the support

    Hi Saksham,

There very good scope when you complete professional qualification.
There is dearth of scope for doing ICMA.
ICMA, India and IMA, USA have agreed on MOU where knowledge can be shared on common platform.

If you want to do some big, always think big.

    All the best to you.

    Hello,

Unfortunately I am not aware of the career opportunities w.r.t your C.F.E course.

What I do know is that you can practice as a Cost Accountant in India either by directly writing the C.w.a. papers OR writing the CMA exams of the IMA from any location OTHER than India. That is the effect of the MOU between the two organizations according to my knowledge. So if you write your CMA(IMA) exams in India you are not eligible to be a Practicing Cost Accountant in India.

Regarding job prospects in the U.S for CMAs please contact IMA. You could also view the IMA Online Job Exchange.

    Good luck.
