Speaker’s Bio:

Jennifer Olenick is the Chief Financial Officer of the Lone Star College System, overseeing Finance and Administration. The CFO provides strategic financial leadership and is responsible for managing the Departments of Accounting, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets, Facilities Planning & Construction, Finance and Treasury Services, Student Accounts, Purchasing, P-Cards, and Payroll. Previously, Jennifer served as Deputy Director of Finance for the City of Houston. Under the leadership of Mayors Bill White, Annise Parker and Sylvester Turner, she served in several high level management roles. She has expertise in public finance, financial planning, budgeting, and treasury and capital management.  Ms. Olenick also played an instrumental role in negotiations with the City’s three pension systems. She managed a $13 billion debt portfolio, $2 billion of liquidity products and increased revenue by $90 million. She worked with stakeholders to reprioritize the city’s multibillion-dollar capital improvement projects.  Jennifer is passionate about financial management and has a proven track record of delivering strong leadership in public service. She’s committed to the mission of operating the college system in a fiscally conservative manner, based on data, efficiencies and accountability.  In 2007, she received her M.A. in Economics from Boston University. In 2005, she graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Economics from State University of New York College at Oswego. She became a certified Chartered Financial Analyst through the CFA Institute in 2013.
