With all of the talk regarding cryptocurrency such as BTC, I felt it was important to share some information which some of you may have already heard.

In a story reported on Social Media as well as on several other websites including, NiceHash, a large crypto-mining marketplace, was reportedly hacked during which all accounts were zeroed, including balances on third-party websites.  Initially, NiceHash reported the site was undergoing maintenance but later confirmed the hack and stated 'We are currently investigating the nature of the incident and, as a result, we are stopping all operations for the next 24 hours.'

As of this point, there has been no additional communication to those with accounts according to various reports online as well as speaking to someone I know who was a miner on NiceHash.  As cryptocurrency is unregulated (at least currently, several articles suggest it is coming in the future), does this seem like a hack to you or more of an internal way to take over 4,700 BTC from its members.

I'd be curious to see what everyone thinks regarding this.
