Scott Ritsema, CPA

A CPA with over 35 years of public accounting tax experience in the West Michigan area, Scott Ritsema has provided tax planning, strategy and compliance advice and services for a range of clients from retirees to national corporations with international affiliations.

Scott began his public accounting career with Touche Ross (now Deloitte) in Grand Rapids where he concentrated on tax-exempt entities and employee benefit plan taxation.  He worked as a Senior Tax Manager at Crowe Horwath for eleven years, concentrating on corporate, partnership, trust, and individual taxation, merger and acquisition tax planning and modeling, multi-state taxation, and estate and gift tax planning for individuals and shareholders.   Along his career path, he has also worked at some local firms, advising business owners on financial statement reporting, succession planning, individual and company tax planning and compliance, along with mentoring staff. He is currently a Senior Tax Manager at Monroe, Sweeris & Tromp PLC, near Kalamazoo Ave and M-6.

A life-long Grand Rapids resident, Scott is currently on the board of directors for the Christian Reformed Church Loan Fund and has served on the ad hoc Professional Advisory Committee for United Way and the board of directors for ICCF.
