Guests are
welcomed and encouraged to attend!

Arrive for our 5 pm Table Topics Program for an additional 1 CPE.

This Month's Topic:  Cost and Benefits of Improving Internal Control
                               Speaker: Professor Kathleen Sobieralski, CPA

Join us at 7 pm for the official program and 1 CPE.

Our "official" program on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, deals with fraud as an organization-wide hazard. The small business or the entrepreneur may believe they cannot afford to develop and operate a fraud detection and determent process but how much will it cost if you do not?

The discussion will also include accounting and reporting for the small business and self-employed. How do you begin a start up? Where can you seek assistance on a very tight budget? How do you evaluate the cost and benefits of management systems?

IMA membership is not required. We will explore resources and broad management, finance, and accounting opportunities for all entities, but especially for smaller organizations. . The session concludes with a question and answers period.

Our Speakers:       (speaker change 9/11)
Professor Barnhart is not able to present.  We are pleased to welcome the following as presenters for the Official Program.

Professor Nega Teshome, MSF, CPA, PMP
Professor Helen Pruitt, DBA, MBA, CPA, CFE

Adjunct Accounting Professors, University of Maryland University

As planned small business issues will be covered as well as the general concepts of business management.
