President's Message

November 12th, 2021

Greetings IMA Members,

It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the 2021-2022 IMA year! I would like to say thank you to my predecessor, Matt Ruch, and the rest of the 2020-2021 South Central Indiana Chapter’s Board of Directors for their work which allowed us to adapt both our FMN and speaker events to a virtual setting and continue to provide quality CPE. I also want to thank all the members of our chapter for your engagement and attendance.

As we transition into the 2021-2022 IMA year, I would like to acknowledge and welcome the following new members to our Board of Directors: Angel Xiong, Diane Isibor and Alex Weaver. Please welcome our new and returning members who will help to support IMA activities throughout the year. The full list of South Central Indiana Board of Directors can be found on our chapter website by clicking here.

Below are the chapter goals for the year:

  • Continue providing quality CPE and finding quality speakers
  • Explore the options for a combination of in-person and virtual luncheons, half-day, and FMN events
  • Continue developing relationship with IUPUC
  • Review pricing for members
  • Increase social media presence
  • Continue events & interactions with other Southern Indiana organizations
  • Expand non-educational event hours, including volunteering and networking opportunities

We plan to continuously monitor IMA COVID-19 Guidelines for In-Person Events. At this time, we are still planning for our CPE events to be held virtually until further notice. We look forward to you joining us for our next event, a session on Ethics with Angela N. Aneiros, scheduled for Wednesday, November 17th, from 8 AM to 12 PM. Angela N. Aneiros is a Lecturer of Business Law & Ethics at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Prior to joining the Kelley School, she spent over ten years in private practice and public interest representing individuals, businesses, and government entities in federal, district and state courts in Illinois and Indiana. At the session, Angela will discuss various considerations related to Ethics in today’s business environment.

Our board is excited to serve you during the new IMA year, and we welcome your input on our plans and activities for the year. We can help answer your questions and we are also interested in hearing your suggestions on potential speakers, involvement in upcoming community events, and interest in joining our Chapter’s Board! Please reach out to us via email at imascic@gmail.com.
